Mel B celebrated her marriage to Rory McPhee with a spiritual ceremony at the Selman Hotel in Marrakesh—an intimate, radiant counterpoint to her traditional St Paul’s Cathedral wedding. Where London called for timeless British elegance, Marrakesh invited something bolder and more individual. Guided once again by Caroline Black, owner of Evelie Bridal London, Mel chose American designer Justin Alexander to reflect her life in the U.S., where she serves as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Here’s a closer look at the four brides and the gowns they wore on screen:

Designing the Vision: From Spark to Sketch
For Marrakesh, the brief was clear: “extra sparkle”—a statement dress that shimmered under Moroccan skies yet felt light and fluid to move in. After trying a range of Justin Alexander gowns at Evelie South Kensington, Caroline and Mel began an iterative process with Creative Director Justin Warshaw and Chief of Design Terri Hilferty. Ideas became sketches, sketches became prototypes, and with Mel’s precise feedback—what to dial up, what to refine—the final concept took shape.

The Red Wedding Dress
The result was a show-stopping, sheer, fit-and-flare gown entirely hand-beaded with rich red crystals and bugle beads, creating a mesmerizing, almost “floating” effect across the illusion bodice and skirt. A plunging sweetheart neckline is framed by concentrated red crystal work that softens as it descends over a structured corset. Exposed boning peeks through layers of sheer tulle; asymmetrical draping at the waist adds sculpted dimension. A sultry side slit offers movement, while the beading delicately scatters down the skirt. At the back, a lace-up corset with red ribbons highlights Mel’s hourglass shape, flowing into a cascading godet and a dramatic cathedral-length train.

Veil & Finishing Touches
Mel completed the look with a Moroccan-inspired cathedral veil, custom-draped in warm mocha tulle and accented with red crystals to mirror the gown’s embellishment. The veil’s crown glints with crystal detail before the sparkle trails through the back drape and along the train—luminous, modern, and beautifully cohesive.

Craftsmanship & Collaboration
This gown was a true atelier effort—six artisans and over 850 hours of meticulous handwork. The collaborative spirit was the through-line from first pinboard to final fitting.
A Personal Note from Caroline Black, Evelie Bridal
"Mel bounced through Evelie’s front doors five months ago, sparkling. Halfway down our winding stairs she looked back and said, “Nice to see you still keep your Irish accent.” And just like that, we were off—four months of dreaming up her London and Morocco looks. Girl power, fully switched on. Her brief was crystal clear. St Paul’s: timeless, regal, elegant. Morocco: bold, vibrant, sexy—one red showstopper and a leopard-print mini for the rehearsal dinner. She was a joy—full of ideas, fun, and certainty. The custom Josephine Scott gown felt like modern royalty at St Paul’s (Josephine, it was perfection). For Morocco, Terri from Justin Alexander flew in from New York to fit the gown at Evelie’s studio. Mel slipped it on—and we all gasped. We did a last-minute trip to Leeds for the final tweaks (me and Marie, our seamstress), snuck in a glass of bubbles and fed some goats, then dashed back. Travel day was… memorable. I carried the Morocco dress in a cabin-sized box. Gatwick security flagged it: “Pins inside—we need to open it.” “We can’t—no one has seen this dress.” “Whose dress is it?” “Mel B.” Cue grin, wink, green light. From touchdown, everything felt like a magic carpet ride—warmth, thoughtful gifts, and that electric feeling something special was about to happen. It did. The wedding was pure magic—joy, love, and moments I’ll never forget. Thank you, Mel—wild and unforgettable!"
A Personal Note from Justin Warshaw, CEO/Creative Director, Justin Alexander
“Every meeting with Mel felt like a creative burst of energy and laughter, and that spirit is woven into the dress. There was so much joy and trust in the process—it truly celebrates her love story and personal style.”
